About this Event
To be safe from crime and violence is a fundamental right for everyone in our community. As we grow older, several factors can impact on our confidence and quality of life.
Taking a few extra precautions and being able to identify potential risks or dangers can go a long way to improve your feeling of safety and wellbeing when out in public spaces and at home.
This Seminar will provide a panel of experts that take part in a facilitated discussion on a range of key safety areas and initiatives ranging from personal and property safety through to the use of technology and staying safe online.
If you’re an older adult living independently, either on your own or with your partner, family or other people, or care for an older person living alone, and you want information and/or have questions about how to keep yourself or your loved ones safety, then this Seminar is for you!
Our panel will include:
• Senior Constable Anthony Cordina – Crime Prevention Officer, NSW Police – Sutherland Police Area Command
• Sandra Foley – Senior Social Worker – Southcare (NSW Department of Health – SESLHD)
• Dr Michelle Julian – Staff Specialist Geriatrician SESLHD
• Susan O’Rourke – Principal Lawyer, O’Rourke and Associates
