Recharge, move, and connect at Healing Through Movement on Tuesday, September 16 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the UNLV Student Union, Room 209.
Take a break from classes and campus life for a full day of free guided workshops designed to boost your energy, teach new skills, and help you unwind. Here’s the full lineup with something for everyone:
- Breathwork & Meditation (9:30 AM) – Reduce stress and find calm
- Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (10:00 AM) – Reconnect with your body
- Mat Pilates (11:15 AM) – Build strength and awareness
- Lunch Walk (12:30 PM) – Mindful stroll with peers to eat lunch!
- Self-Defense (1:15 PM) – Learn practical, empowering techniques
- Voguing Dance (3:00 PM) – Celebrate joy and expression
Come for one session or stay all day. In collaboration with Girl Gains UNLV, Inferno Hot Pilates, and Free Self Defense LV, enjoy free snacks, swag, and a chance to meet fellow students while prioritizing your wellness. Don’t forget your yoga mat (limited mats available to borrow).

Mat Pilates
Host: Jonacynth (Inferno Hot Pilates)
Info: Starts at 11:15am. Mat Pilates is a form of pilates exercise performed on a mat, without the use of specialized equipment. It focuses on core strength, flexibility, balance, and overall body awareness through a series of controlled, precise movements. Mat Pilates classes typically incorporate exercises that strengthen and stretch muscles, improve posture, and enhance body control.

Self-Defense Class
Host: Free Self Defense LV
Info: 1:15PM - 2:45PM. Self Defense LV is the 1st Women-Led FREE Self Defense Program in Las Vegas. Their goals are to provide free, accessible physical self-defense training to women, youth, and underserved residents; empower individuals to reflect on their self worth, power, and capabilities; endorse respectful emotional, verbal, and physical boundaries; allow safe spaces for generational healing; and foster community mutual aid, leadership, and promoting long-term social change.

Dance: Voguing

Info: Voguing is derived from LGBTQIA+ ballroom culture, which was an underground society built on the struggles and strides of the Black and Latin: drag and transgender community. This dance form has grown into a mainstream sensation.
