About this Event
Grief has a sound. It lives in the catch of a voice, the pause before a name, the poem that finds you at 2 AM when nothing else will do. On the night before Cheer Up the Lonely Day, we are gathering to let grief speak — out loud, in community, without apology.
Healing the Soul: What Grief Sounds Like is an open mic evening for anyone who has ever needed words to hold what they were carrying. Come to perform. Come to witness. Come to sit in a room full of people who understand that sometimes the most healing thing you can do is listen to someone else say the thing you could not.
Poetry. Prose. Song. Spoken word. Original pieces. Beloved words from others. All of it is welcome here. The only requirement is that it comes from a real place.
Registration required for all attendees. Indicate at registration whether you plan to perform or witness. Open to adults 18+. Space is limited.
