About this Event
This training day is aimed at all those involved in the surveillance and management of the mandated bacteraemias (MRSA, MSSA, Escherichia. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella species), and users of the UKHSA Healthcare Associated Data Capture System (HCAI DCS)
The day covers all essential aspects of the system to ensure that participants are well-equipped, and understand the requirements of the surveillance programme, questions and definitions, and utilisation of the DCS system and its functionalities effectively. The day will also include practical sessions to reinforce learning and facilitate hands-on experience with the system, along with valuable networking opportunities with peers in the field.
This training day serves as a vital platform to bring participants up to speed with the system and requirements of the surveillance programme to ensure good high quality data. By participating in this training, delegates will enhance their understanding of surveillance practices, thereby contributing to improved data quality and analysis

Who should attend?
The training is aimed at all staff involved in the surveillance and management the HCAI mandatory bacteraemias and CDI, and users of the UKHSA HCAI DCS. Sessions are aimed at those who are new to HCAIDCS, involved in the programme but have never received formal training by UKHSA and those who have previously attended the training but would like to attend for a refresher. The delegates should be staff involved in surveillance co-ordination, data collection, data entry and data management and interpretation, although other relevant members of staff interested in learning about HCAIDCS may also wish to attend.
Programme schedule
The programme for the day begins with log-on from 09:30-09:45 followed training commencing at 09.55am. The last session will finish at 16:00pm. Please ensure you are able to accommodate these start and finish times. It is essential for delegates to participate in the full training session as each section of the programme to gain a comprehensive understanding of surveillance practices.
