About this Event
Welcome to Hazlehurst Snap & Social! This is a relaxed and informal gathering for anyone with an interest in photography—from complete beginners with a smartphone to experienced users with a DSLR. Digital or Film cameras all welcome! It's also a great chance to meet some of our Hazlehurst Camera Collective members and find out more about what we do at Hazlehurst Studios.
This is more than just a walk; it's a chance to practice mindfulness and boost your wellbeing by slowing down and seeing the world through a creative lens. You'll benefit from fresh air, gentle exercise, and the social connection of meeting like-minded individuals.
Date: Saturday 21st March 2026
Time: Meet at 10:30am
Duration: 2.5 hours
Meeting Point: Outside Wat Phra Singh Temple/Peace Garden
This is a social-first event. There’s no pressure to “perform”, no technical teaching, and absolutely no requirement to photograph people if that’s not your thing. Come to shoot, chat, observe, or just enjoy the walk.
We’ll stay close to the Old Town and Top Locks, where there’ll be plenty of opportunities for street photography and capturing the atmosphere of the day. The Temple will be opening its doors especially for the event, giving us the chance to explore inside as well.
The Peace Garden adjacent to the temple is a beautiful area full of flowers and trees, with its iconic gold Chedi spire at its centre.
Our route will take us along the area where the Bridgewater Canal is set to be reopened. Both Unlock Runcorn boats will be moored along the canal, alongside The Dinky Boat Café and Small Batch Tap, adding to the character of the walk.
We’ll make sure to return in good time for the official launch of Fraeda, the new wide‑berth canal boat, so no one misses the moment.
Feel free to stay with us for the whole walk or peel off at any time.
- Family friendly, dogs also welcome but will not be able to enter the temple.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather, we will go ahead with this event whatever the weather.
- Those wishing to enter the temple will be required to remove their shoes at the entrance.
