On April 14 at 5:30pm, Dr. Bernice Jones will present a lecture on “Haute Couture in Ancient Greece: The Spectacular Costumes of the Minoans and Mycenaeans” in the Myers School of Art Auditorium (Folk 165) on UA’s campus. This is lecture is sponsored by the Akron-Kent Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America, the Myers School of Art, and the Sally A. Miller Humanities Center of the University of Akron. Dr. Jones is an internationally recognized authority on ancient Greek costume. She is the author of the pioneering book, Ariadne’s Threads: The Construction and Significance of Clothes in the Aegean Bronze Age (2015), and more recently Minoan Wall Painting of Pseira, Crete: A Goddess Worshipped in the Shrine (2024) and many articles that can be found on Academia.edu (https://independent.academia.edu/BerniceJones).
