About this Event
Imagine the scene: you’re finally ready to shed the pajama pants, leave the house, and talk to other adults. You head to your favorite place to socialize and the first person you talk to looks at you like you have something in your teeth and a stain on your shirt. You immediately retreat back to the couch, feeling alienated and misunderstood.
Enter Happy Hour for Sad People. At Mr. B’s Mead Center on May 6th, you can be comfortable talking about your loss (if you want—there’s no expectation to discuss it) without the risk of pity face—you know the one—because everyone here gets it. Far too many grieving people lose friends or feel distanced from their community because of their loss. Being with other grievers eases the loneliness. You might even have some fun (again, no pressure!).
Expect a casual social gathering where grief is understood and you don’t have to hide the fact you might be dealing with some hard things. Stay as long as you want, talk to whomever you want, about whatever you want, and be yourself.
