● SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO CRUMBLE ●
This Halloween weekend, the mythic performance collective itchy-O returns with its eleventh annual Hallowmass, a sprawling ceremonial performance staged across two nights: October 31 and November 1, 2025, at Summit in downtown Denver.
Each year, Hallowmass explores the Triad of Impermanence, a ritual framework that defines the arc of life, death, decay, and renewal:
Mayat Ōm honors the dearly departed.
Mayat Öd confronts the collapse of the physical.
(Ō) Expurgo! initiates the release of outmoded attachments.
In 2025, the rite sees all Hallomass aspects but turns its focus to Mayat Öd, a ritual reckoning with the structures, identities, and forms that are no longer. From expired places and collapsing systems to objects once clung to, this year’s Hallowmass invites the public into a shared rite of symbolic shedding and transformation.
● WHAT TO EXPECT ●
At the center of the event is the Mayat Öd Altar, an interactive installation built from salvaged memory and material decay. Guests are encouraged to bring symbolic offerings for all three nights, Mayat Ōm, Mayat Öd, and Expurgo. Itchy-O will give a special charge to all things Mayat Öd; objects that represent things they’ve outgrown, systems they’ve exited, or identities they’re ready to leave behind.
The evening begins with an opening performance by SOUNDCULT, a sonic collaboration between Thor Harris (Swans) and Lyman Hardy (Total Unicorn). A conjuring meditative intensity and hypnotic percussion to prime the ceremonial field.
With over 50 masked performers, a sonic egregore will surge through the space, this is not a show, it is a sacred spectacle engineered for transformation.

Hallowmass is itchy-O’s annual ceremonial performance series, described by press as a collision of chaos and mysticism, where thousands gather to bear witness and participate in the mythic architecture of the collective unconscious.
Blending ritual, performance art, percussive onslaught, and immersive sound design, itchy-O has cultivated a transformational tradition unlike anything else in North America.
