About this Event
In addition to its regular weekday hours (10-4 Wed-Fri), Founder’s Hall Museum hosts a monthly weekend open house. Visitors can enjoy special themed highlights and activities, along with the opportunity for a self-guided visit to the museum.
Join us in October for Halloween Highlights Open House at Founder's Hall! Learn more about life and death at Girard College over our 175 year history and about Halloween traditions at the school. Did you know that Stephen Girard's body was moved to Founder's Hall in 1851? Or that the College has its own cemetery plot? Or that the students used to run their own haunted house in the basement of Founder's Hall? No tricks, just historical treats at this Halloween open house.
- This open house event is FREE, and open to everyone. Advance registration is helpful for us, but walk-in visitors are very welcome.
- Founder's Hall is a National Historic Landmark. The museum is located on the second floor and requires climbing a flight of stairs to view.
- Because Girard College is an active school, you will quickly check in with security when arriving on campus.
- Parking is available for free on-site; we are also accessible by several bus lines and are a half-mile walk from the Girard Avenue subway stop.
- Check out www.foundershall.org for more information about our programs, collections, and online resources
