📣 CALLING ALL FIRST NATIONS ARTISTS, MAKERS & CULTURAL PRACTITIONERS FOR THE GUNNEDAH MAKERS DAY📣Arts North West is proud to partner with our Aboriginal Arts Steering Committee, Gunnedah Local Aboriginal Land Council, and Gunnedah Shire Council to deliver the inaugural Gunnedah First Nations Makers Expo – MAKERS DAY ✨
This exciting new event celebrates the strength, creativity, and cultural knowledge of First Nations artists and makers across our NENW. The expo will bring together artists, cultural practitioners, storytellers, and makers to share creative practice, cultural knowledge, and artistic processes within a welcoming and community-focused environment.
MAKERS DAY is designed as an interactive and engaging experience where artists are encouraged to demonstrate their work, connect with audiences, and share the stories, skills, and traditions behind their practice. Whether through live making, informal workshops, storytelling, weaving, painting, carving, or conversation, the event will create opportunities for learning, cultural exchange, and community connection.
The event also provides an important pathway for artists interested in developing work for the upcoming Gunnedah NAIDOC Exhibition, with artists encouraged to create, test, and refine works for potential exhibition outcomes.

Participation is free for presenting artists, with each participating artist receiving a $200 artist fee supported by Arts North West.
We are incredibly excited to launch this new initiative and celebrate the depth of First Nations creativity and culture within our region.
