About this Event
This is a class for people who are only casually familiar with guns and basic gun safety or who are nervous around firearms but want to become more comfortable. We aim to create a learning environment that feels comfortable to people who might not feel like they have a place or are welcome in more "traditional" gun culture spaces.
Our hope is that by the end of the class, you will feel empowered to practice personal safety around firearms should happen to encounter one or if you are interested in owning one yourself.
This is a "pay-what-you-can" class please consider donating towards all the hardwork our members put into the class.

If the following applies to you you may be consider a "prohibited person" under ATF ruling and can not participate in the hands on section of the class.
- convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
- who is a fugitive from justice;
- who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance (as defined in section 102 of the Controlled Substances Act, codified at 21 U.S.C. ยง 802);
- who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution;
- who is an undocumented immigrant;
- who has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
- who has renounced his or her United States citizenship;
- who is subject to a court order restraining the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of the intimate partner; or
- who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
