Guinga: a legend of Brazilian Music

Come join us for an unforgettable evening of music at The Caledonia.
We are very humbled and excited to welcome Brazilian Jazz composer and Latin Grammy Nominee Guinga to Liverpool for a one off, special performance. A brilliant Brazilian Jazz performer encompassing beautiful Choro, Bossa Nova, Samba styles and more.
This will be a seated performance, with tables set up throughout the venue. All seating will have a line of site to the stage. There will be an interval between the artists performances and time before the show to purchase drinks. The bar will be open untill midnight following the show.
Tickets booked together will be seated together and tables will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you book individually but would like to sit as a group, please email the venue to arrange this.
The venue has a limited number of subsidised ticket available for students and persons with low income. Please contact us directly to reserve these tickets.

Considered one of the most important Brazilian contemporary composers, Guinga's songs have been recorded by superstars such as Elis Regina, Chico Buarque amongst others and he is a favourite of musicians around the world.
Growing up in a working-class suburb of Rio de Janeiro his uncle taught him to play the guitar at age 11. He began his career as a guitarist accompany artists such as Clara Nunes, Carlota, Joāo Nogueira and others. His original music has been covered by many popular artists throughout his career. He has worked with lyricists Paulo Cesar Pinheiro, Aldir Blanc and Thiago Amund. At 73, Guinga now tours the world with his solo concerts, duo performances and as part of a jazz trio.
Hamilton Luduvice
Natural from the State of Sergipe, Northeast Brazil. Hamilton Luduvce has in his 'musical accent' the entire Brazilian cultural mix.
After 15 years in Portugal and currently residing in Liverpool, UK, Hamilton's style continues to mature with a repertoire based on Bossa Nova, Samba Jazz, North-Eastern rhythms & Portuguese-speaking African grooves. His music is expressed sincerely with elaborate chords & infectious melody.
Hamilton Luduvice has participated in Jazz and World Music festivals across Europe, Brazil and the UK. He regularly performs at The Caledonia as part of his Jazz & Forró ensembles.
He prefers not to label his musical style, but it can be located somewhere within the genre the community would call 'Brazilian Jazz.'
