About this Event
Journey into the vibrant masking traditions of Guinea — where rhythm leads, movement speaks, and the mask becomes a bridge between community and continuity.
This immersive gathering brings Guinean mask traditions into motion through live drumming, mask performance, and cultural interpretation rooted in respect and authenticity.
Presented as part of Sira: A Virtual Museum of West African Masks and Their Stories, this experience is not only a community encounter — it is also part of the museum’s creation. Live filming and documentation will take place during the event, capturing the movement, sound, and communal energy that will become part of the evolving Sira virtual museum.
By attending, you are not simply witnessing tradition — you are contributing to the living archive that Sira is building.
What is Sira: A Virtual Museum of West African Masks and Their Stories?
Sira is a groundbreaking digital museum and immersive platform developed by Delou Africa, Inc., reimagining how audiences encounter West African mask traditions. The name Sira, from the Malinké language, means “path” or “journey,” reflecting how masking traditions are experienced—through movement, ceremony, and the transmission of knowledge over time.
Structured through four guiding pillars—Stories, Ideas, Rites, and Ancestry—Sira presents masking traditions as living cultural pathways. These interconnected elements reveal how masks carry narrative, embody social and philosophical meaning, take form, and remain rooted in lineage and ancestral presence.
Through immersive digital tools, Sira expands access beyond geographic and institutional boundaries, inviting audiences to encounter masks not as static artifacts, but as evolving expressions of knowledge, creativity, and communal memory.
This Is Just the Beginning
This gathering is part of Sira’s year-long cultural journey culminating in the unveiling of the full virtual museum experience in December 2026.
By attending, you are witnessing and will become a part of the living foundation of what will become a dynamic virtual museum — one rooted in community, movement, and ancestral memory.
Be among the first to experience Sira as it unfolds.
