Join us for the Highlights walking tour, bringing Jewish heritage to life through remarkable stories and architectural landscape

London’s most surprising hidden gem, Willesden Jewish Cemetery is far more than a burial ground – it represents the Jewish community in Britain. Uncover unmissable stories and legacies of 29,800 individuals buried here.

Founded by the United Synagogue over 150 years ago, it became the final resting place of many who made a considerable contribution not just to their community, but to the British Society as a whole. The Cemetery is also a lasting memorial to Jewish leaders, who led this community through milestones of its turbulent history.

The first Jewish cemetery registered as a Park and Garden of Special Historic Interest, Willesden is a remarkable example of Victorian funerary architecture, imbued with traditional Jewish symbolism, as well as a tranquil nature oasis in a busy suburban area of North West London.

The walks are led by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers, each sharing their own personalities and passion with visitors.

The walks start at the Heritage Centre, which offers an introductory film, exhibition and a map.

A limited amount of parking is available on site. Wheelchairs can be provided upon request. No dogs, with the exception of guide dogs.

Our guided walks help us keep doing what we do - sustaining the House of Life visitor experience and making the cemetery’s heritage and stories accessible to people from all backgrounds.
