About this Event
Join us for a guided walk of Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, taking some time to observe the birds found there during the summer. Your guide will be one of the reserve's dedicated volunteers, who knows exactly what to look out for!
The breeding season should now be in full swing, and although the quantity of birdsong will have reduced from its Spring peak, the young of some species should be visible, including the geese, ducks, Grey Herons, and Great Crested Grebes. Swifts, Swallows, and both species of martin may be feeding over the lakes in good numbers, and summer is also the peak period for Kingfisher sightings as they hunt for fish to feed their young. June is also one of the best months to see butterflies and dragonflies.
We recommend you bring a pair of binoculars to make the most of this walk. It could be muddy underfoot, so please wear sturdy footwear.
