Guided Tour in English. Carl's Great Love

The story of the Glyptotek is inextricably linked to Carl Jacobsen’s passion for sculpture. Music, a semi-nude marble woman playing a violin, was his first love.
The more Carl collected, the more ‘love affairs’ he had. In 1888, he donated his vast collection of sculptures and art to the Danish state, paving the way for the Glyptotek.
Today the museum houses a world-class collection of sculptures from antiquity and ancient Egypt, and French and Danish sculpture from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The tour visits all the different individual collections, spotlighting the Glyptotek’s must-see highlights.

FREE GUIDED TOUR
The guided tour is free once the admission to the museum has been paid. Tickets cannot be booked in advance. They are available in the ticket office on the day. We do not issue tickets to groups of more than five persons. We advise larger groups to book a private guided tour.
