Join the Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi for a Guided Photography Walk - a unique experience for anyone with an interest in photography visiting Tiritiri Matangi IslandIncludes:
Return ferry from either Viaduct Harbour, Auckland or Gulf Harbour, Whangaparoa.
A two hour guided walk along the Wattle Track with an experienced Tiritiri Matangi Island photographer:
- Saturday 6th April 2024
- Saturday 13th April 2024
- Sunday 21st April 2024
Your guide will take you to the best locations to capture that perfect shot, help you spot native birds & wildlife along the way and offer advice & tips on how to enhance your photography
A maximum of six people per tour for a personalised experience
Suitable for both amateur and professional photographers
Time to take in the sights at the top before a leisurely walk back down to the wharf.
Spaces are very limited and only available on selected dates during.
Ferry Times:
Departs Auckland: 8:30am | Gulf Harbour: 9:25am | Arrives Tiritiri Matangi Island: 9:50am
Departs Tiritiri Matangi Island: 4:00pm | Gulf Harbour: 4:25pm | Arrives Auckland: 5:20pm
Need to know:
- Guided Walks will take approximately two hours depending on what is seen on the day
- Your guide will meet you upon arrival at the end of Tiritiri Matangi Wharf
- Guided Walks will be along the Wattle Track and finish at the visitor's centre by the lighthouse
- These tours are not suitable for children under 16 years old
- There is no food available to purchase on the island. Snacks and drinks are available to purchase on the ferry, or you can bring your own picnic. Due to biosecurity rules all food must be packed in a sealed container.
- Toilets are located at the Tiritiri Matangi Wharf, Hobbs Beach and the lighthouse.
- Smoking is restricted to the designated area at the wharf and outside the Visitor's Centre.
- Please ensure you keep to the tracks so as not to disturb plants, birds or scientific studies.
- Dogs are not permitted.
- Fires and portable barbeques are not permitted.
- There are no rubbish bins on the island, so please remember to take all your rubbish with you when you leave.
- Bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on the island.
- There is no phone available for use on the island apart from in an emergency.
