Guided Forest Bathing - originally coined "Shinrin Yoku" in Japan - is the practice of connecting with one's senses and the natural world through guided prompts that bring peace, stillness and relaxation.
Connect with breath, body, the natural world and other like-hearted humans in this guided experience.
I am simply here to accompany you, the true medicine is the forest itself.
This practice has been shown to improve overall well-being, from reducing stress hormones, increasing relaxation and boosting the immune system.
Please come dressed appropriately for the weather, with layers and appropriate foot gear. You are invited to bring some water, and something to sit on, if desired.
Bring any tokens or items that might help you feel supported.
This walk is for you if:

We meet in High Park just North of Grenadier restaurant parking lot, west of Hawk Hill at 2:00p.m. EST.

Meditative nature journeys are led by Lucy Szczesniak who completed her Honours Bachelor of Science specializing in Ecology and Biology, Master of Information and Master of Forest Conservation at the University of Toronto. Her thesis was inspired by the practice of Shinrin Yoku (Guided Forest Bathing), as well as advocacy for equitable distribution of trees among all communities.
Shinrin Yoku, also known as "Guided Forest Bathing", involves spending time immersed in nature and receiving guided prompts which facilitate relaxation to support psychological, emotional and physiological wellbeing.
Lucy has studied Buddhist meditative practices and shares her love of nature by offering Guided Forest Bathing Walks. Lucy has enjoyed upwards of 60 days in silent retreat, where she connected deeply with the profound healing benefits of the forest. Among exploring great literary works and pursuing vegetable gardening, she also helps others cultivate relationship with self and the natural environment through Guided Forest Bathing.
