About this Event

This year’s Young Artists Concert by the Germantown Symphony Orchestra (GSO) celebrates the 25th anniversary of our competition showcasing the finest young musicians from the Mid-South. We are excited to feature this year's exceptional winner, Hanna Yu, who will perform the captivating Allegro movement of Jacques Ibert’s Concerto for Flute and Orchestra.

In addition, the orchestra will present Richard Wagner's Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" and Franz Schubert’s "Unfinished" Symphony, honoring the GSO’s 50 years as a community orchestra. These pieces were part of our inaugural season in 1975-76. To round off the program, the audience will enjoy the charming "Polovtsian Dances" from Alexander Borodin's opera Prince Igor.

This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee.
