About this Event
Join us on a morning adventure, fun for the whole family in Northern Toronto led by EcoSpark’s Citizen Science Lead Educator, Livia Antony to learn more about biodiversity in our urban parks, and building connections with nature.
About the hike:
Explore the diverse wildlife of G Ross Lord Park and help conduct a biodiversity survey as we track species (from birds, mammals, and plants) for science and conservation.
Livia will get participants involved in citizen science and share her passion for birds and species identification through the eBird, iNaturalist and the Seek citizen science apps.
Meeting Location: Please meet at the Main Parking Lot, North York, ON M3H 5T6 (Dufferin Street entrance if driving, also near the Public Washrooms)
About Livia:
Livia’s passion for the sciences and the natural world led her to pursue a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Geology from Mumbai, India. Her growing desire to work in the field of sustainability and conservation brought her to Canada to pursue the Master of Environment and Sustainability program at Western University. Using her knowledge and skills acquired through this multidisciplinary learning, she now works as the Citizen Science Lead Educator, engaging students, schools and community groups in environmental citizen science monitoring activities across the GTA.
