ARE YOU A GOOD LISTENER? WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE BETTER AT IT?First Congregational United Church of Christ offers an Orientation to Group Spiritual Direction on Saturday, September 28, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and ALL are welcome! A group will be formed of those desiring to participate for an hour and a half a month, October through May—that’s 12 hours a year of deep listening! Those who attend the Orientation are under no obligation to participate in the group. This is just a “come and see” if this process might be for you.
Behind Group Spiritual Direction is a simple but crucial conviction: each of us has an inner wisdom, an inner teacher, a voice of truth that offers the guidance and power we need to discern how we live our life. That inner voice is often garbled by various kinds of inward and outward interference. The function of Group Spiritual Direction is not to give advice or “fix” people from the outside in but rather to help people remove the interference so that they can discover their own clarity from the inside out. Group Spiritual Direction can be a remarkable process to help us identify and live into our deepest truths.
To learn more about this process, join us for the Group Spiritual Direction Orientation on Saturday, September 28 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 221 7th Avenue W, Alexandria, MN. Call Marcie Watson at (319) 310-0565 to reserve a spot.
