£995 per personIf you want to experience the wonders of the Lake District – this is your holiday. The trek covers the best scenery to be found anywhere in the UK as it meanders over fells, by lakes and rushing streams and waterfalls.
This five night holiday – a five and a half days trek across the best of Cumbria – led by local guides- starts at Ulverston and ends in Carlisle.
Each day there is a walk of around 12 – 15 miles, following the long distance Cumbria Way footpath.
We stay in two hotels- the Newby Bridge Hotel for three nights, and the George Hotel in Penrith for two nights, both excellent and with lovely food. Baggage and yourselves are transported between the hotels on Day three.
Walking is moderate, some ascending and descending on the first three days then challenging as we ascend and descend the Cumbria fells reaching heights of 800 metres on day 5 – and you should be walking fit, capable of walking for six to eight hours on consecutive days. We walk for six days.
The last part of the Cumbria Way takes you through the outskirts and then centre of Carlisle and we provide a self guide for your pleasure.
