This half-day event brings together business leaders, innovators, and sustainability professionals to explore how businesses in the West Midlands are tackling the climate crisis through innovation. Through panels, roundtables, and networking, we’ll spotlight practical solutions and collaborative opportunities for climate action.

Welcome and Introductions

Info: Kick off the event with a warm welcome from a regional leader or sustainability champion. This session will outline the goals of the day and set the tone for collaboration and innovation.


Panel 1: Tech for Net Zero – Innovation in Energy, Transport & Infrastructure

Info: Explore how businesses are using technology to reduce emissions and build resilience.
Discussion themes include:
- Innovations driving real change
- How SMEs can access and adopt climate tech


Roundtable Session 1

Info: Choose one of two themed discussions:

- Green Finance & Investment: How can businesses access funding for climate innovation? What role do investors and banks play?
- Skills for a Green Economy: What skills are needed for climate innovation? How can we upskill the regional workforce?
Each table will be facilitated to encourage practical ideas and collaboration.


Panel 2: Circular Economy & Sustainable Business Models

Info: Dive into how businesses are rethinking waste, materials, and operations for sustainability.
Discussion themes include:
- What does circularity look like in practice?
- How can businesses collaborate across sectors?


Roundtable Session 2

Info: Choose one of two new themed discussions:
- Digital Tools for Climate Action: How can data, AI, and digital platforms support sustainability?
- Place-Based Innovation: How can local ecosystems drive climate solutions? What role do communities and councils play?


Report Back & Audience Q&A

Info: Each roundtable will share key insights, followed by an open floor for questions, reflections, and contributions from attendees.


Closing Remarks & Next Steps

Info: Wrap up with a summary of the day’s takeaways and signposting to follow-up actions, funding opportunities, and networks. Attendees will be invited to share one climate action they’ll commit to post-event.
