About this Event
We know through lived experience how difficult it can be to advocate for your child when there are professionals who don't really understand how FASD impacts those who have it or may have it and the families that they live with. Last year we created our 'Allies' booklet and a training package that is linked to it.
This booklet has been designed to help you advocate for your child by setting your loved ones needs in the national context and latest information about FASD. Our booklet contains official facts and figures about what FASD is and why it must be taken seriously. In addition, this booklet is fully customisable so that you can write down all about your child and their strengths and weaknesses to inform professionals about how they can best support your young person. You are not alone.
In this session, you will learn about why this booklet was curated including a briefing about the latest developments in FASD; how to fill in the booklet to get the most out of it for your child and the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
