Multi-award winning Red Rope Theatre Company, will be returning to the Anglican Chapel, this November for their 8th production, delighting audiences with a gothic horror adaptation of ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens.The famous novel will be adapted for stage by award winning playwright and company Artistic Director, Matthew Grinter.
In this tale of psychological and emotional torment, a strange encounter on the marshes leads Pip to follow a path forged by manipulation and love. As the ghost-like figure of a forgotten bride walks the halls of her empty mansion, she holds the destiny of this young lover in the palm of her hand.
Dickens crafts a world haunted by trauma and control, as we follow the journey of a boy desperate to rise above his origins.
