A whole-day event at Pollardine Farm to discuss grazing for nature with a presentation and farm walk.About this Event
We are holding this event to showcase the work we have completed through our latest Farming in Protected Landscapes project, Grazing for Nature. This has included:
- Producing a 'Plan for Every Field' by completing a Phase 1 Botanical Survey and VESS analysis for every field parcel on the farm, which will help us to improve our grazing management
- Recording our day-to-day grazing management and analysing the data to aid decision making
- Improving the resilience of our native grasslands by overseeding a mix of deep-rooting grasses (Tall Fescue and Cocksfoot) with wildflowers over 81 hectares
- Reseeding 7 former cover crop areas with 4 different mixes to assess how different pasture mixes perform in a regenerative grazing system (we will talk through what we've done and why, and have a look at how these areas are growing after being planted in October 2025)
