Bell Taylor Employment Conference: When Good Employers Get It Wrong
About the Conference:
Most employment claims do not start with bad employers. They start with good intentions. Informal conversations. Misunderstood behaviour. Issues that are left to drift until they become formal, adversarial and expensive.
That pattern is familiar to anyone leading a business.
With significant changes to employment law approaching, the margin for error is narrowing. Decisions that previously carried limited risk will increasingly attract legal scrutiny.
This half day conference is for business owners, directors, managers (Incl HR managers) who want to understand why workplace issues escalate and where employers are most exposed.
We will look at how risk develops in ordinary, day to day management decisions. We will examine why well meaning approaches often create unintended consequences and how those situations appear from inside organisations.
Dr Lisa Williams, Clinical Director of the Autism Service, will explore neurodiversity in the workplace.
Geoff Robinson, Managing Director of Buckingham Solutions, will discuss what organisational culture looks like when problems surface and why confidence in management decisions can erode.
Nick Glister, Investigations Manager, will demonstrate what workplace investigations actually reveal, why trust breaks down and what distinguishes a defensible process from one that escalates conflict.
We will then consider what earlier, firmer intervention looks like in practice.
Workplace problems rarely appear overnight. They build through delay, uncertainty and a reluctance to act.
The purpose of this conference is simple. To give senior leaders clarity on modern people risk and the confidence to address it before it turns into a tribunal claim.
