About this Event
Grass Roots is a monthly live music event which is fully dedicated to supporting young and emerging London-based jazz artists. It takes place at the CLF Art Lounge's Pop Up space in Peckham, South London on the first Thursday of the month.
For the month of March, we're absolutely thrilled to welcome Kora Williams and her quartet to the stage to perform as the Joni Joni Project. This bonhomous band will be revisiting Joni Mitchell's extensive catalogue, and adding their own twist to their favourite tracks from albums such as Blue, Court and Spark as well as Shadows and Light. Kora herself is a rising jazz singer who has a voice described as having a pure natural tone. For your listening pleasure, expect a blissful blend of jazz and folk music with rich vocal expressions and a smidgen of soul.
You'll find the venue inside Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (or Mountview for short) on the ground floor and next to the main entrance. It is also behind Peckham Library and a 10-minute walk from Peckham Rye station.
