Come and honor your grandparent with a walk & roll with a rose ❤️🌹Meet at the bottom of Carleton Street Bridge starting 12:30pm (near Library). Walk & Roll will start at 1pm.
I purchased a dozen roses from Trites Flower Shop. A rose will be given to those who wish to donate & come for the walk, the rose represents the love for your loved one 😊
About this free event/About me:
I grew up being very close to my grandmother aka, Mémère. She was my last living grandparent before she passed away in July 2023 and I miss her everyday. She loved going for walks and gardening. Good friends of mine gifted me a rose bush after I returned from her funeral, the flowers are called "Never Alone". I am forever grateful for this gift.
Why this event:
Unfortunately, losing a grandparent is very normalized & often dismissed as a great loss. Losing my grandparents felt like losing a second parent, because they were. I know I'm not alone in this. The purpose of this walk is for those to not feel alone in grieving the loss of a grandparent.
Who is this for?
Whether its a recent loss or not, they still hold a great place in your heart! This is also open for people to enjoy a walk & roll with their living grandparents. If you're a grandparent & wish to enjoy time with your loved ones, please join! This is all about intergenerational love.
Feel free to donate anytime: https://hospicefredericton.ca/donate/
**Disclaimer: Only 12 roses will be available to receive with a donation, it will be available to the first 12 people. If you wish to get a rose in person, proof of online donation will be needed.
This event is independently hosted by myself, Chelsea Crockford.
