Grads of the seventh cohort of the You Belong on Stage Standup Comedy Incubator for Underrepresented Genders close out Woke Mob Comedy Fest!
About this Event

People of underrepresented genders belong on stage, and amplifying the diverse voices of the DMV is critical. That's why comedian/educator Dana Fleitman created and launched the "You Belong on Stage" Standup Comedy Incubator in 2023. The Incubator is a cohort-based program that seeks new comics, from those who have never been on stage to those who have been performing for up to one year. The group meets for weekly workshops, getting the opportunity to network with other comedians (peers who are new in the space and seasoned comics), explore joke structure and formats, and – most of all – to build community and workshop material, culminating with THIS SHOW!

Cohort 7 has been hard at work with instructors Cheyenne Mathews and Rosalie Rubio, along with many illustrious guest instructors, to hone their 'tight 5' and bring some new energy into the DC comedy scene.

Get ready to celebrate these driven, talented, and HILARIOUS performers from cohort 7 of the incubator at their graduation show.

About the Woke Mob Comedy Festival
The woke mob is rising up! With an absolutely unhinged dedication to diversity, bodily autonomy, and democracy itself, we are undrainable swamp people who work hard every day to keep our home in the DMV culturally hostile to the fascists in power. And honestly? We deserve to have fun while we do it.

The Woke Mob Comedy Festival celebrates everything that makes this region the best, even as the rest of the country sends us its worst. We’re showcasing the DMV’s funniest comedians, especially highlighting BIPOC, women, LGBTQ+ and gender-queer performers, plus a few “prodigal” comics who got their start here before heading national. Check out the full festival schedule here.
It'll be hilarious, joyful, AND every show gives back! With our neighbors under attack, we're raising funds for local organizations that are helping some of our region's most vulnerable.
