About this Event
We’ll begin at Anzac Square and make our way into the Valley, exploring laneways, street corners, and passing interactions, before easing into the softer rhythm of James Street. The walk will end at SOKO Rooftop, where we’ll catch the sunset, share a drink, and reflect on what we’ve seen and captured along the way.
This session is designed to be intimate and observational, focusing on storytelling through everyday moments rather than chasing perfect shots. All levels are welcome.
This photo walk is a collaboration between Esther Zheng, GR Space Brisbane, and PGYTECH.
In collaboration with Ricoh GR Australia, a small selection of GR cameras will be available for attendees to test and shoot with throughout the walk.
Those bringing their own GR will receive a small gift to keep with your camera.
Dear Stranger Photo Challenge
As part of the walk, we’ll be running a simple storytelling challenge:
Capture a fleeting moment of someone you don’t know. A gesture, a glance, an interaction.
Participants are invited to share one image from the walk, paired with a caption beginning with:
“Dear Stranger,”
A selected winner will receive a prize from PGYTECH, and a selection of images may be shared after the event.

Important info
- We’ll be walking for a couple of hours at an easy pace
- Please arrive on time so we can start together
- If the weather turns, updates will be shared closer to the date
- Spots are limited to keep things small and easy to move together
For those joining at SOKO Rooftop after the walk, please note:
- This is an 18+ venue.
