About this Event
Topic: Looking back to look forward: Lessons that will shape Queensland’s next energy era.
With the next wave of gas exploration and development on foot in Queensland, coupled with expansion of renewable energy and critical mineral exploration a continued community and coexistence is critical. Last year, EY reported Social Licence to Operate as one of the top 5 risks to the resources industry. Queensland’s gas sector has already navigated the complex realities of land access and community expectations. This session explores what this experience has taught us about earning social licence, managing competing land uses and realising genuine community benefit and how we can leverage these insights to anticipate, adapt, and respond to shared opportunities and challenges – setting a stronger foundation for the state’s next phase of resources and energy development.
