Gouache Sketchbook Painting (2-part class)

Learn how to paint with gouache, an opaque water-based paint used in illustration. We will spend time inside and outside working with our paintings. We will go over tools and materials, some basics to working with gouache, tips to landscape painting and then we will play around with this versatile medium outside! Gouache is a vibrant and gratifying way to capture light and color. Please bring your own sketchbook (preferably with watercolor paper), and any other materials you may have!

This class is taught by visiting artist-in-residence Claire Waterman. Claire joins us for July and August from our neighboring island, Lopez. You can learn more about her here!

This class is held in the Art Barn at our Art Farm location at 45 Hawthorne Lane. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.

Schedule: Saturday, 8/1 and Sunday, 8/2, 3-6pm.

If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.

Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes.
