About this Event
Discover the captivating beauty of Japanese GOSU ceramics with a master ceramist visiting from Japan, here in London.
GOSU blue is a traditional Japanese ceramic style known for its deep cobalt blue pigment, used to craft intricate, flowing patterns on porcelain. Each brushstroke is preserved in striking blue, capturing a sense of movement and precision. Mrs. Soejima will demonstrate this age-old technique, offering insights into how she creates the vibrant yet delicate designs characteristic of her work. She collaborates with her husband, who shapes each piece, and their son, who supports the family business. Together, this skilled family team carries forward their craft with dedication, operating a local kiln that has produced GOSU ceramics for generations.
This exclusive event is a rare opportunity to witness the artistry of GOSU firsthand, led by a guest artist deeply committed to her heritage and craft. Don't miss the oppotunity to find unique present for yourself or others that you love - the collection is availabe for purchase.
We also run a "Japanese Etsuke Workshop" (ceramic painting workshop) and the tickets are availabe on our website .
