About this Event
Good Work in central London – Improving job quality and protecting employment rights in central London
This event will take place on Tuesday 26th November, 10am-11.30am, at the Basinghall Suite, Guildhall, 71 Basinghall St, London, EC2V 7HH.
Central London is a hub of high-paid, high-quality jobs – however, it has a very unequal labour market. Many Londoners are in low paid, and low-quality employment. Too many jobs do not provide the legal minimum requirements in terms of employment rights.
Central London Forward, the partnership of 12 central London local authorities, has been exploring access to good work and employment rights in central London.
Join us to hear us more about our recent research on Good Work in central London, and our upcoming research on tackling Employment Rights Abuse in central London.
The event will include a presentation on the findings of the two pieces of work, a panel discussion, and an interactive session where you will have the chance to influence Central London Forward’s upcoming work on employment rights.
Speakers include:
- Cllr Adam Hug, Leader of Westminster City Council;
- Victoria Speed, Employment Law Advice Network (ELAN), Trust for London
- GLA representative (tbc)
- Trade Union Congress representative (tbc)
