About this Event
Step into a piece of living Chicago history at the Gallery Cabaret. A long-standing fixture of the Bucktown neighborhood, the Gallery Cabaret is a rare hybrid—a classic, unpretentious dive bar that doubles as a dedicated sanctuary for the arts. For decades, it has served the community with a "classic Chicago" feel, where the walls are always lined with displays from local artists. We’ve kept the event free so that you can settle in, grab a drink or 2, relax, and enjoy the show.
Because we want to keep this event free, the show is donation-based. If you enjoy the sets, we kindly invite you to give a donation (small or large!) to the performers. Your contributions go directly to the comedians on stage who are chasing their dreams and keeping Chicago’s world-class comedy scene alive. It’s a neighborly way to support the craft while enjoying a night out in one of the city’s coolest hidden gems. (A QR code will be available at the show in order to scan & give donations.)
The evening is produced and hosted by Josh Black, a touring comedian now based in Chicago. With a digital following of over 500,000 on TikTok and 35,000 on Instagram, Josh brings his high-energy perspective and professional eye to the Gallery stage. These lineups are meticulously curated to feature only the best comedians in Chicago alongside heavy-hitting touring acts passing through the city.
