Gongs at Old St Paul’s: A Vigil for Peace is a 90-minute immersive gong bath held in the warm afternoon light of Old St Paul's.
Musicians and gong players Nick Hyder and Erika Grant will offer a spacious, deep and relaxing sound journey designed to support rest, reflection, and a shared intention for peace. As the layered tones of the gongs move through the body and the resonant wooden interior of the building, participants are invited to slow down, listen inwardly, and settle into stillness.
This is a quiet gathering – open to all – to pause together and rest in sound.

*For this sound journey, we'll be lying on the carpet near the altar. Please bring a yoga mat, pillow, eye mask and blanket – or whatever it is you need to feel most warm and comfortable for this*

Scientific studies have highlighted the benefits of sound therapy, particularly gong baths, in reducing stress and promoting overall well-being. The rhythmic patterns and overtones of the gongs can help entrain brainwaves, leading to a meditative state and improved mental clarity.
Beyond the immediate effects, many participants report experiencing lasting benefits such as improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and enhanced mood following a gong bath session. By immersing yourself in the healing vibrations of the gongs, you can tap into a deeper sense of relaxation and rejuvenation.
THIS EVENT IS RESTRICTED TO 20 PEOPLE ONLY
