About this Event
Join us on Saturday, 22nd of May for a deep-reaching sonic experience that has the power to help you relax, reset into more harmonious states, let go of energetic blocks, or shift into reflective or even dream-like, mystical realms that can help you transform from within. Join us for a fabulous small Group Gong Bath in Wimbledon.
What you can expect from a gong bath...
In my experience, no gong bath is ever the same. The sound waves can lead you into gentle states of sleep and relaxation. Sonics of the gong can also incite the experience of lucid dreamworlds or wonderful states of lightness. Equally, the deep vibrations and sounds can be emotionally evocative and feel like a cathartically felt purge of 'stuffy energies' that have been pent up for a while.
Sounds baths are also known to induce alpha and theta brainwave states, which can lead to vivid insights or wonderful 'visuals' int he form of geometric shapes or 'swooshes of light'. Some people also take advantage of the altered brain-wave states to make the subconscious conscious or enter states of healing self-hypnosis. The possibilities are endless. At the baseline it is a great opportunity to exit the chronic rat-race and states of 'firefighting'; to give your nervous system a much needed 'reset'.
Never been to a Gong or Sound Bath? A Wonderful Exploration Awaits you!
No prior concept or belief is required for a sound bath to be effective, relaxing, transformative or meaningful. Some people just find rest through it and maybe even fall asleep. This can be refreshingly soothing in a world that can incite overthinking and rushing. Others might experience initial tension and discomfort or the emergence of long-suppressed feelings which are calling for an outlet. The release of this type of pent-up energy can be deeply healing and cathartic. Others might rejoice in dreamy states or evokative visuals... No gong bath is ever the same.
What to bring - This is Important:
- A Yoga mat, or portable form of bedding to comfortably lie on.
- Water to hydrate before and after
- A comfortable pillow and blanket (temperatures tend to drop during the sound bath)
Please note that sound baths are not recommended for people with pacemakers or during the first trimester of pregnancy. If you have questions about the suitability of this event feel free to message me ([email protected])
You will be asked to turn your phone off completely during the sound bath session. Please note that failing to do so or disrupting the session with phone use will lead to you being asked to leave. No refunds will be given in that instance.
Aftercare:
Taking it easy, resting and slowing down is recommended after.
I particularly recommend an bath for at least 20mins after the gong bath has taken place to further relaxation.
About Me:
In case you are wondering... My name is Vera and I am a therapist, sound healer, and musician with over 10 years of experience in group facilitation, counselling, and sonic care. I am passionate about creating environments in which people can engage with their own forms of healing and change. Music is medicine to me. I conduct my session with the aid of my three trusted Paiste Gongs: Plato, Hypatia, & Sonja... Yes, they have names and are wonderful guides and healers in their own right.
