About this Event
Stories of Survival. Stories of Repair.
Voicing the Void presents Golden Seams - an evening of powerful live performance where lived experience and storytelling come alive on stage.
Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi - repairing broken pottery with gold - Golden Seams honours both the cracks and the courage it takes to heal.
This moving performance shares the stories of women who have survived extraordinary challenges and found ways to rebuild, reclaim their voices and emerge stronger.
Healing is not about hiding the cracks, but acknowledging them - and finding new beauty in the process.
Through the power of restorative storytelling, we create connection, depth and community.
On the Night, You Will Experience:
• Stories of navigating coercive control, family court and parole processes - transforming personal pain into advocacy and calls for reform.
• Stories of surviving cancer, medical dismissal and isolation - rediscovering resilience and hope.
• Stories of displacement and refuge - journeys from war-torn Syria, experiences of racism, and rebuilding dignity and belonging in Belfast.
• Stories of neighbours choosing empathy over fear - standing up for newcomers and challenging harmful narratives within their own communities.
In some cases, professional actors perform stories on behalf of participants, ensuring voices are heard while storytellers are supported and protected.
Every story leaves a trace of gold.
