About this Event
About this event
This session shares practical learning from the Community Research Hub model, using Listening Threads Weaving Stories of South Asian Heritage as a pilot example from Rochdale.
Listening Threads was an eight‑week, community‑led storytelling and wellbeing programme that supported South Asian women to build confidence, explore mental health, and prepare to engage meaningfully with health research. The work was co‑facilitated by a trusted community connector from Awakening Minds, whose existing relationships were central to creating a safe, participatory space.
The session will explore:
- How community research hubs work in practice
- The role of Community Champions in engaging seldom‑heard groups
- What grounding engagement with the Greater Manchester Respectful Research Charter can look like
Lunch will be provided.
