About this Event

Join us for a fireside chat with Lord Karan Bilimoria, drawing on his unique vantage point as both a global entrepreneur and a member of the UK House of Lords to explore how global businesses can strategically leverage the India–UK Free Trade Agreement and the evolving bilateral business corridor. Through real-world examples from his own entrepreneurial journey and policy engagement, he will examine opportunities for market entry, partnership formation, negotiation, and scale across borders. The session will offer practical insights into navigating regulatory environments, structuring cross-border deals, and building resilient global businesses that capitalise on the growing economic integration between India and the UK.

Speaker Bio:

Lord Karan Bilimoria, Baron Bilimoria, is a British-Indian entrepreneur, life peer, and leading advocate for entrepreneurship and UK–India business collaboration. As the founder of Cobra Beer, he built a globally recognised brand by successfully navigating cross-border growth, complex negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
In his role as a crossbench member of the UK House of Lords, Lord Bilimoria actively contributes to debates on business, trade, education, and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on strengthening ties between the UK and India. He has worked closely with Indian entrepreneurs and business leaders across sectors, supporting their international expansion and engagement with global markets.

Beyond Parliament, he has held senior leadership positions including President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Chancellor of the University of Birmingham, and continues to mentor and champion entrepreneurial leadership at the intersection of policy and global business.
