About this Event
Join us for a free evening torch lit walk of your local Glendowie Stream that flows through Churchill Park. We should see native fish and eels that come alive at night, and enjoy exploring the park by night!
Hear from Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust about a special project to help restore native freshwater fish to Glendowie Stream Stream, supported by the Ōrakei Local Board and Auckland Council.
Friends of Churchill Park will chat about the restoration mahi underway in this lovely reserve. Enjoy a hot cuppa and biscuits afterwards (extra bikkies if you BYO cup :)
Bring a torch, closed shoes and warm clothes. Participants will need to be able to walk 800m across uneven ground with unformed track in places, and manage stairs/ slopes.
Rangatahi and tamariki under 16 will need to be supervised by a guardian over 18.
This event is made possible by the support of the Auckland Council and Ōrākei Local Board. Please RVSP as numbers are limited! Any questions contact: [email protected]
