About this Event
Come join us at King Edward's Bay and take the plunge into the chilly North Sea and make a splash for a great cause!
We're inviting as many people as possible to come and join Team Gleeds and take on a fundraising dip with a difference. Whether you're a seasoned dipper or just looking to dare your director, there's something for everyone at the Gleeds Dip and Sip. It’s also a great opportunity to fulfil any corporate social responsibility hours, you may have in your workplace.
Here’s what’s in store on event day:
- A fun, Mr. Motivator-style warm-up to get you ready for the plunge!
- You can even embrace the festive spirit with optional fancy dress for an extra fun.
- Post-dip celebratory bubbles, courtesy of Hotel du Vin.
- Warm up by the firepits with drinks, thanks to Riley’s Fish Shack.
- Treat yourself to a rejuvenating sauna by the bay with Steam and Salt after your icy swim. (Please note, each tent has a capacity of 6 people.)
By joining our dip, we ask you to join our fundraising efforts with a suggested goal of £50. We're choosing to support babies, children and young people across the North East this festive time and join forces with our charity partners, Children North East. This is the reason we're taking it back to their coastal routes...
About Children North East
In 1891, Children North East began its story at the beach, as its Founders took children living in poverty in Newcastle City Centre to the coast for a day of food, fun and fresh air. 134 years later, they work with over 4,500 people annually, providing much needed support towards improving mental health, alleviating poverty, helping families in crisis and giving young people the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
To put into context a donation of £45 could provide life-changing counselling support to a child or teen. To join our fundraising team, connect your JustGiving page to our JustGiving Dip and Sip through this .
