About this Event
Join Canon representative, Kyle Valla, on a photo walk through Union Bay Natural Area. Over 200 species of birds have been spotted here along with turtles and other marsh-dwelling creatures. If conditions are right, we may even spot the elusive Mt. Rainier. Canon will provide limited sample gear to try out on our walk. Be sure to dress for the conditions as the path can get mucky in some areas.
WHERE TO MEET
This session will be in-person. Meet at the parking lot just north of the Douglas Research Conservatory and we’ll walk along the gravel paths searching for wildlife.

WHAT TO BRING
A camera of your choice, with a lens, a fully charged battery, and a memory card.
CANON LOANER GEAR
A limited number of loaner cameras and lenses will be available to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.
ABOUT KYLE VALLA
Kyle’s love for image-making began over two decades ago while learning black and white film photography in high school. After graduating from college with a fine arts degree with a concentration in photography, he began a wedding, portrait, and event photography business while simultaneously working in the region’s camera stores.
After more than 13 years working in camera stores in Oregon and Washington, he joined Canon in 2019 as the northwest sales representative. Kyle loves teaching and sharing his passion for capturing memories and the gear used to create these images.
