So much fun with all this jazz on Avenyn! Even more collaborations around jazz lie in the future!
DAVID BRAID – pianist, composer, improviser.
Canadian pianist and Steinway artist who earned a reputation as one of his country's most celebrated jazz artists and developers of jazz through his compositions and arrangements. Praised for his records and compositions! That, together with a love for the trumpeter Chet Baker, gave him the job of arranging and composing the music for the film "Born to be Blue", for which he also has the rights to display. We will hear the thoughts behind the music, composition and creation in a very fun meeting with this Renaissance artist.
BJÖRN INGELSTAM – trumpeter, singer, entertainer lives in Paris and active on the jazz scenes in New Orleans, New York, London, Copenhagen,,,and Sweden. Very happy that Björn is coming to us again - the obvious choice with Chet Baker as the theme - a world-class performer on both trumpet and vocals!
ANDERS MOGENSEN - who is on drums this evening - is the one who made this possible. A good friend for several years, fantastic drummer and percussionist and professor of music in Odense (DK). Anders is one of the cornerstones of this Norwegian-Swedish-Danish collaboration and has mediated. Anders will also participate in a workshop with young people and take steps to deepen the collaboration in the future!
GÖTEBORG JAZZ ORCHESTRA is one of the most exciting movements in Swedish jazz. The big band has made a rocket career and in a short time established on the highest level. In their love to music they always look for new expressions and they attract collaborations with the best musicians - domestic and abroad. They often reach over the genre barriers with new formats.

The XJBA Quartet is an eclectic jazz ensemble consisting of four students who will soon graduate from Hvitfeldtska's music high school. They combine influences from the golden age of jazz with modern expressions, and their repertoire ranges from the vocal swing of Annie Ross and Ella Fitzgerald, via Joshua Redman, to the fusion and neo-soul of Robert Glasper and Yebba.
