Inaugural Lecture SpeakerAlex Kendall
Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences at London South Bank University
In an era defined by profound social, cultural, and technological upheaval, the very essence of education reaches a critical crossroad. This session boldly confronts the harsh reality that despite aspirations for education to be a force for positive change, systemic biases persist, favouring those already privileged. Join Alex Kendall, Dean of the School of Law and Social Sciences, in challenging outdated certainties by advocating the willingness to "get lost" in pursuit of more just and inclusive pedagogies.
A distinguished Professor of Education, Alex Kendall holds 30 years experience in practitioner education, and is the Editor of Practice for 'Contemporary Issues in Practitioner Education'. Her research focuses on teacher development, literacies, and education in varying sectors such as early years, schools, colleges, universities, prisons, and health and community settings. Having led notable national and international projects, her most recent work in Vietnam and Indonesia addresses critical issues such as gender and education, and women's leadership in higher education.
