Join us for the March edition of Girls+ To The Front with host OK Naledi with Aiyana and C4ND4!AIYANA is an Ojibwe and Caribbean singer-songwriter based in Ottawa. She was raised in northern Ontario and is a member of M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island with roots in the Caribbean island of Barbados. Blending elements of folk, pop, and soul, her music weaves raw emotion and poetic honesty. Accompanying herself on piano and ukulele, she crafts songs that explore vulnerability, healing, and self-discovery. Her debut single, “It’s Getting Bad Again,” is available on all streaming platforms, marking the start of a heartfelt musical journey.
Just hatched out of the proverbial egg, C4ND4 Is tending to old sounds of bedroom dreamy and RnB beats, sprinkled in cosmic dust. C4ND4, Breaks the mold of whatever body they choose to present in for the day, but always blends joy, care, and a lot of fun. Find them walking about, acting on stages, humming a new tune and gifting smiles to the little beans around. This will be their first featured act in over 5 years, and so it may be shaky but they remind us that it is always OK to start again.
OK Naledi is a high-energy, Afro-Fusion music group based on the unceded Algonquin Territory referred to as Ottawa in Canada. Rooted in Motswana heritage, OK Naledi weaves raw emotion and vibrant sounds into stories of heartbreak, love, queerness, family and adulthood. Their songwriting is deeply personal, shaped by the experience of living in a Western context while carrying the roots and rhythms of southern Africa. OK Naledi blends traditional sub-Saharan guitar lines, warm bassy grooves, and movement-inspiring beats to create a sound that’s both genre-defiant and soul-stirring. Their lyricism is intimate and poetic, offering listeners a space to feel seen, held, and moved.
