About this Event

Grenfell Health & Wellbeing Service Art Club for 6-16 yr olds

“What does your community mean to you?” is the theme for this exciting young people’s graffiti project. Led by artist Jon Rees, along with GHWS staff, these workshops will be a chance to play, experiment and have fun being creative in a relaxed environment. We will experiment with using spray paint and paint pens to create vibrant and exciting works of art.

The aim is for each person to create their own individual response to the theme and to then combine these altogether to be displayed in public as one large artwork.

Sessions will be held at Morley College and the final artwork will be displayed outside the new Kindred Studios, on the canal side by Ladbroke Grove/Harrow Road.

Day 1 (Wed. Feb 19th): you will be developing ideas around the theme “Community is…” and experimenting with spray painting and/or paint pens. Jon will create a series of stencils to be used on Day 2.

Day 2 (Thurs Feb 20th): you will be translating your ideas into graffiti. You will have the opportunity to work individually and collectively as a group if you wish.

There will be opportunities to work individually and collaboratively as a group. You can choose which you prefer. We would love if you can join us for both days.

Sessions are open to all skill levels. No previous knowledge or experience required. All materails will be provided. Let your imagination run wild as we explore the wonderful art of graffiti together! Don't miss out on this chance to connect with like-minded individuals and create something amazing!

This is the second series of children & young people’s art workshops both of which were funded by the Our Community Inheritance project and GHWS.
