About this Event
The studio consists of artwork, homewares and musings by the designer. Having travelled to various countries within Africa, Hannah's main inspiration comes from these places - the culture, the energy, the colours and of course the huge expanse of craftsmanship.

With a strong interest in hand made craft everything has either been created in house, or designed by Silo Studio and made by specialist artisans. They are proud to work with various small, family run makers, women's collectives and individual artisans from around the world to support both them and their craft. Their priority is quality, using the same techniques these artisans' ancestors have passed down to them. The studio takes into consideration its environmental impact. They have tried wherever possible to minimise our waste, producing only small runs and using responsible materials.

A word on the beginnings of Silo Studio from Hannah herself: "I come from a family of creatives and entrepreneurs. My grandpa founded his own property business, Thomas Homes, in 1974 with his brother... The Silo was originally a fully functioning grain silo on my family farm owned by my grandparents... but is no longer in use, and therefore my grandpa decided to convert the space into an art gallery, just because he felt like it... The space is open and light. During the lockdowns when I spent time at home, the top floor became my studio; where the ideas for the collective started brewing."
