About this Event
Generation X Meets Next Gen with Laila Biali is coming to the Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival on Sunday, July 26 from 7-10pm.
This one-of-a-kind concert brings together Grammy-nominated and multi-JUNO Award-winning artist Laila Biali with rising Vancouver talent for a powerful celebration of legacy, mentorship and musical evolution.
From beloved selections of the American and Canadian songbooks to bold reinterpretations shaped by improvisation and contemporary energy, this performance reimagines classic repertoire through a fresh, modern lens.
Joined by standout young musicians, including Vancouver and NYC-based jazz bassist Allison Lee, who is currently studying Jazz Performance at The Juilliard School, this concert highlights the next generation of talent.
You’ll also hear from one of Canada’s rising jazz trumpeters, Luke Young. At just 19, Luke has already made waves, placing third in the National Trumpet Competition’s jazz program. He is currently studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship.
From Carnegie Hall to stages around the world, Laila Biali is known for pushing the boundaries of jazz, pop and beyond. This special concert brings that same spirit into an intimate setting built on connection, creativity and shared artistry.
